Meet Artem – A Veteran Boxer with a Passion for Coaching

Artem grew up in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where he spent 15 years as a competitive boxer, racking up over 100 amateur fights across Ukraine and Europe. His dedication to the sport earned him a silver medal at the Ukrainian Nationals and three victories at Poland’s prestigious Golden Gloves tournament.

After retiring from competition, Artem transitioned into coaching, bringing his vast experience to the next generation of fighters. Over the past seven years, he’s trained boxers at all levels, including leading Slovenia’s national team at the Junior European Championship.

Artem’s coaching philosophy is rooted in hard work and consistency. He emphasizes the importance of training intelligently and teaches his students that success in the ring comes from not only physical strength but mental preparation and smart strategies.

With his deep knowledge and commitment to developing champions, Artem is a coach who truly believes in his students' potential and guides them every step of the way.

Meet Kent – Canada’s #1 Ranked Flyweight & Bantamweight. A Dedicated Champion with a Heart for Others

Kent is an undefeated professional boxer with a current record of 7-0 (6 KOs) and is proudly ranked #1 in Canada in both the Flyweight and Bantamweight divisions. He is also the current Pacific Coast Champion, solidifying his position as one of the country’s most dominant rising fighters.

With international experience competing across the United States and the Philippines, Kent brings elite-level ring IQ, discipline, and championship mindset to everything he does.

Before turning professional, Kent built an exceptional amateur career, capturing multiple titles and earning national recognition, including:

Meet John – Our most Experienced and Passionate Senior Coach

John is our newest—and most senior—coach, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. Originally from Ontario, John has been deeply involved in both boxing and rugby, first as a competitor and later as a coach. His dedication to the sports community has spanned many years, and he’s now bringing his knowledge and expertise to Alberta.

A standout moment in John’s career was volunteering at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Ontario, where he helped with the boxing events. This experience ignited a passion in him to do more for young athletes, especially those who are looking to prepare and compete at their highest level. It’s that drive to see athletes succeed that he now brings to his coaching.

John’s commitment to helping boxers grow, both in the ring and beyond, makes him an invaluable asset to our team. We’re lucky to have him on board, and his experience and passion are sure to inspire the next generation of champions.

Meet "Junior" – A Rapid Rise from Fitness Enthusiast to National Champion

Randy, affectionately known as "Junior," never imagined that a decision to start boxing for fitness would lead him down a path to greatness. In just four short years, his passion for the sport has grown into an impressive career, marked by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for boxing.

What began as a fitness goal soon evolved into something much bigger, and Junior quickly became more than just a trainee—he became a competitor, a coach, and a mentor. His commitment and relentless effort were rewarded on March 23rd, 2024, when he competed in the Canada Cup, emerging as the New National Champion and Gold Medalist!

Junior’s journey has continued to soar, earning him a spot at Team Canada's training camps—a recognition of his incredible skill and potential. In an amazing turn of events, Junior was selected for the Canadian Olympic team for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, an achievement made even more remarkable by the fact that he had only 14 fights under his belt when he earned his spot.

We’re extremely proud of Junior and all he’s accomplished in such a short time. His future is nothing short of bright, there’s no telling just how high he will go.

Mikey’s journey into personal training began with one simple goal: to help others achieve their fitness dreams, no matter how big or small. He’s a firm believer that a great workout has the power to transform lives, and he's here to be a part of your journey.

With over 10 years of experience in recreational gyms, Mikey has worked with individuals of all fitness levels, tailoring workouts to meet diverse needs. However, it wasn’t until he joined Chestermere Boxing Club in 2020 that he truly found his passion. Mikey has since thrived in the boxing world, even losing 35 pounds in just six months, so you know he’s all about serious, results-driven workouts!

Mikey offers both group and one-on-one training sessions for all levels, whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, hit a specific goal, or simply get in a solid workout. His approach is personal, dedicated, and focused on helping you every step of the way.
